Julia Simpkins is a freelance writer based in Brighton, UK.
After completing a BA in American Literature and Politics at Manchester University and an MA in Media Studies and Multimedia at the University of Sussex, she has written for a wide range of publications including Brighton magazine The Insight and the British political magazine New Humanist.
Her main areas of interest are British social issues, environmental issues and humanism/secularism, as well as TV and film comedy (cult and mainstream) and of course popular culture.
She now combines journalism with creative writing and is working on a collection of short stories. She has also studied a number of yoga disciplines over the last twelve years.
